The manufacturing of recycled PET bottle flakes has been the cornerstone of SF Globally since its inception. In producing recycled PET flakes, SF GLobally utilises its vast network of recycling centres to sort and separate the plastic raw materials by colour and plastic type to avoid contamination in the manufacturing process. The company’s sustainable supply chain management system allows for the continued supply of PET bottles to its recycling centres and a production capacity of 750 metric tonnes per month. The recycled PET flakes are available in a selection of colour such as light blue, green and clear ready for immediate delivery to the company’s customers around the globe. This rigorous approach is done manually to ensure consistently low level of impurities; PVC bottle tops are also disregarded during sorting. Once the sorting process is complete, the source materials are then grounded into flakes then washed to remove further impurities in the final product.

Recycled Polyester staple fibre is a synthetic man made fibre from post consumed recycled PET bottle flakes. It is used in Non-Woven carpets, wadding, interlining filtration industries, as a polyfill for stuffing cushions, pillows, soft toys, quilts. It is also used for spinning yarns and making geotextiles.

Polyester is almost identical in appearance to nylon rope and is now the most widely used rope in boating applications. It has been said that if polyester had been invented before nylon, then they wouldn't have bothered to invent nylon!
